Mobile broadband provider O2 will begin trials of a new mobile broadband technology that will reach speeds of up to 340Mbps.

Known as Long Term Evolution (LTE), the new mobile broadband technology will be trialled in the UK before Summer of next year.Announced by O2’s parent company, Telefonica, the UK will be one of six other European countries starting the trials over the coming months.

The new LTE mobile broadband promises to provide mobile broadband speeds over ten times what is currently available in the UK.
