BT Broadband

BT BroadbandWith more than 4 million customers, BT is the UK’s largest and most established broadband provider. Apart from Virgin Media, BT are the owners of the main infrastructure that all the other UK broadband providers use to offer their home services through.

As you would expect from the largest fixed-line broadband provider, BT offer a number of broadband packages, including home broadband deals, mobile broadband dongles, and TV & phone services. Alongside BT’s four main standalone BT Total Broadband packages, they also give customers the option of bundling their broadband services with a range of call packages and even offer digital TV with their BT Vision service.

The BT broadband packages come with download speeds of up to 8Mb, although each package has a different download limit. Two of the BT Total broadband packages include fixed monthly allowances, others have unlimited broadband allowances as per their fair usage policy.

All of the BT broadband packages are integrated with their BT Vision service which means that customers can add BT’s digital TV service for no extra monthly charge, along with the ability to add pay-per-view and subscription programming when needed.

Along with the standard BT home broadband service, and their free BT Home Hub wireless router, BT also provide a wire range of additional extras. These additional services from BT include mobile broadband, free wireless broadband, free internet security, online backup, storage and access to BT’s network of wireless hotspots.

BT are currently piloting a new 40Mb service in areas of London and Cardiff, with plans for a wider roll-out scheduled for 2010.
